OUR QUALITY STANDARDS

Stem cell storage at the iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre guarantees that the stem cells will be obtained and analysed in accordance with all European standards, and they will be safely stored right here in Latvia, in a certified laboratory equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment. 

• International Standards

  We work according to NetCord-FACT standards. International NetCord Foundation and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) are non-profit organisations, which develop standards for umbilical cord blood stem cell banks. These standards are created with the help of clinicians, scientists, biotechnologists and quality control experts. 

• Controlled by the State Agency of Medicines of the Republic of Latvia

  The quality of our stem cell processing procedure is controlled by the State Agency of Medicines. Certificate, issued by the State Agency of Medicines, confirms that the iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre laboratory has been evaluated and it has the rights to extract and store stem cells in the territory of Latvia.

  Stem cell extraction, processing and storage procedure takes place in sterile conditions in the new iVF Riga Stem Cell laboratory,  which has been built and equipped according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, therefore every client can be confident that the laboratory follows the highest quality and safety standards.

• Annual quality control of stem/progenitor cell (CD34+) analysis

  On September 12, 2018, the iVF Riga Stem cell Center Laboratory performed external quality control for the analysis of hematopoietic stem cells (CD34 + cells) by flow cytometry. For the characterization of hematopoietic stem cells (CD34 +), it was necessary to calculate the concentration of stem cells in the blood and to determine their viability. The iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre Laboratory has met the External Quality Control Requirements according to these criteria and has obtained a certificate confirming     that the laboratory is able to perform a qualitative analysis of hematopoietic stem cells (CD34 + cells). The certificate was issued     by the German company INSTAND, which provides quality control to medical laboratories, and is valid for one year.
